Kids CAN make a difference

By Jess Zimmerman from Grist

winter2

Winter, a young person concerned about the environment, asked for Nature Conservancy donations in lieu of gifts for her eighth birthday.

The parents of the friends she had invited to the birthday party mocked her for this, but instead of giving up, Winter set up a fundraising page with the kid-friendly site Earth Rangers and started collecting donations.

And what a success Winter has been! By 27 April 2012, she has raised $5375!!

See? Kids CAN make a difference!
